PURLEY-BORN Susanna Reid lost out in tonight's final of Strictly Come Dancing.
The BBC Breakfast host, 43, was up against singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, model Abbey Clancy, and Coronation Street actress Natalie Gumede, in an all-female final.
Susanna, a former Croham Hurst and Croydon High School pupil, finished bottom of the judges' leaderboard on the night.
But this was largely irrelevant as the winner was to be decided entirely by the public vote.
Susanna and her professional partner Kevin Clifton made it to the final three, after Ellis-Bextor was eliminated following the first two dances.
However, the public plumped for Clancy - wife of Stoke and England footballer Peter Crouch - despite the Crystal Palace fan being the pre-show favourite with the bookies to take home the Glitterball trophy.
Susanna and Kevin performed three dances in the final, including a paso doble they'd previously danced in the series in Blackpool, for which they received 39/40 from the judges.
