A FIRE has destroyed what is left standing of Croydon Athletic FC's former club house.
Firefighters were called at 13.37pm to reports of a small fire in one of the old changing room toilets at the Keith Tuckey Stadium, on Mayfield Road, Thornton Heath.
The toilet, which was more than 50 per cent damaged in the attack, was one of the last remaining parts of the building standing after a suspected arson attack in January.
Fire fighters said the fire had been started deliberately.
Two engines from Croydon fire station and one from Norbury attended the blaze, which took two hours to put out because of problems with access.
AFC Croydon Athletic are still interested in returning to the ground.
